See what one you are at
There are i feel 3 different stages that we all go through Before moving to Spain.
What stage are you at?
Heres a run down of what i think are the 3 stages..
Stage 1, Dream stage
You are thinking about moving to Spain some day. maybe in 5 to 10 years. you have seen some nice photos and it looks nice you like the idea of sum sun rather than rain. Your not happy with working hard all week then come home and watch the same crap on tv. in the next few years you would like to go check out Spain.

regular views like this help push you to making it happen.

Stage 2, fed up stage
You really fed up with work and the same old routine all week. The weather and costs of everything are just crazy. Traffic jams and rush hours always the same and theres no real quality time for family anymore. What the hell are we working hard all our lives for…Your really thinking about the kids and what it would be like if you just moved to Spain in the next year or so. You have been to Spain and looked at some property prices and seen some things online that looks affordable. Your planning another trip there to go check out areas that you could buy in. Your getting your house valued to see if you could do it.

Stage 3, taking action stage
Forget the rush hour and weather, we are going thats it…its crazy waiting till we are to old we have to go now before we die. You have maybe been to Spain a few times and you have been looking at properties and look online most weeks at prices and areas. your gathering all the info and thinking about or have started looking into residencia and getting nie numbers and selling your uk home.
You will be moving to Spain in the next year or less if the house sells. Not so worried about the weather as you will soon be in the warm sun.

There is actually a fourth stage Stage 4.
I am so glad we did it stage.
So what frame of mind and stage are you at now? comment below and did you go through these stages..

I DID it 19 years ago mine was rather quick. My late husband had always wanted to retire to somewhere hot. Then he decided to retire early before it was too late, as he was a lot older than me and said he couldn’t wait till I retired so I said ok. We came to Spain in the September 2002 to view properties ( I got a second job to do a bit of saving so we could rent without touching our savings and money from house sale ) in February 2003 house went on market and sold in May but because the buyer was waiting for one of her houses to sell ( unbeknown to us in the beginning) we ended up completing sale in December 2003 and moved to Spain a week later. Saw our house and bought it within two weeks. After renovations etc… moved in March . Fast forward 2 1/2 years I’d become a widow and was single for 12 years and 5 years ago met my wonderful second husband and we’re still in the same house and are just finishing off updating it. Life is great no regrets can’t believe how happy we are. Making the move was best decision I’ve had to make reluctantly at first and would never go back to England.

Hi David
Thanks for the invite. You’re a great inspiration to people brave enough who want a better life living in Spain, your information has been invaluable to those who have newly taken the plunge, and it would have been great for me when I arrived 20 years ago, but I survived teaching myself along with following a lot of your advice. I look forward to what new things you have coming our way. Thanks so much for all the hard work you do that goes unpaid, and done through kindness towards others.
